Falling into Fall at Swizzle and Shake

beer-syrupSummer was a crazy success with great Tybee locals and visitors to Swizzle and Shake. Now it’s time to look forward to fall, football, beer and bourbon (among other delights). September is National Bourbon Heritage Month and we are appropriately celebrating at S&S with specials on bourbon accessories such as simple syrups, bitters and bourbon smoked cherries September 14-17.

We also carry four Beer Syrups that go great in bourbon cocktails-you simply must try one! Not only are they super tasty, but they also are on the cutting edge of beer craft cocktails! The syrups give a real kick to cocktails, but also are delicious as a glaze for veggies and meats AND a topping for ice cream! What a workhorse!

flasks-coastersFor those of us not quite ready to let summer go, the Tiki movement is still going strong-we have tiki shot glasses, tiki mugs and cocktail books. Tiki drinks abound in our island restaurants and bars so come get your tiki on!

Swizzle and Shake is proud to be a silent auction donor to the Thin Mint Throwdown on September 17. This fun event benefits the Girl Scouts of Georgia. Can’t wait to try the decadent desserts the chefs concoct for this worthy event! I was a Brownie in LaGrange, Kentucky…never made it to Girl Scout. I wonder if it was because I insisted on wearing my white go go boots with my Brownie uniform??

drink-like-pirate-dance-like-mermaidOctober on Tybee means Pirate Fest fever is in full swing! We have vintage pirate glassware, skull shot glasses for a toss of your favorite grog and a smokin’ skull drink dispenser that will be the hit of your pirate party! BTW, congratulations to our pirate royalty Charissa and Jodee!

The newest addition to Swizzle and Shake is the “Swizzlemobile”. A cherry red three wheeler I can zip around Tybee on-it is SO cute! I will be decorating it for all the seasons so watch out for it! I may not wave to you if you honk-don’t take it personally, I’m just trying not to wreck!

I had a very “cool” moment earlier this month on our Alaskan cruise. I was at a wine tasting on the ship (shocking, I know) and we were introducing ourselves around the table and when I mentioned I owned a little barware store on Tybee, a woman from North Carolina squealed that she LOVED Tybee AND Swizzle and Shake!!! Well, cheers to that!! Until next time, Swizzle On!
